I have several USA made 1/2" 90 degree 3 flute countersinks, they are all carbide, however the cutter is brazed or silver soldered to the 3/8" shaft. My question is, have any of you used similiar cutters for light profile chamfering aluminum or are these solder joints only designed for vertical cuts.
Thanks

Brazed carbide countersinks should have no problem chamfering aluminum.... although I always use chamfer mills...
Sometimes the three flute countersinks have minimal clearance behind the cutting edge to help reduce chatter. Used as a cutter they may rub badly.

Looks like the answer is, yes it will, but !
