We upload and download programes all the time with text in the programes. We will identify tool type and dimensions to be achieved.Seems to simplify setups.
Problem is this machine wil not show it.When transfer is done in either direction text is gone.
Is this an option that I need to buy and if it is what do you call it?
Is it just a bit that needs to be changed or am I needing boards and etc>>
Any thoughts out there. It is an old machine mid 1980's:rolleyes:
Number man,
Do you put your coments in ( ) ? Also some,(I did say some guys) Fanucs require the coments to be all caps.
Also what model OM (a, b or c)?

Yes we put text in ().Controler does not have () keys but we do not programe at machine.
It is a model C controller.
I will try the caps though, never thought of that.

Check to ensure that the machine is cummucating in ASC rather than EIA. Years ago a had the same problem with K & T EB's that would only show text messages while in ASC II.

Have come to find out this machine is a A controler that was ment for tape reader not RS232
comunication.
Even with the tape reader books say outright that Text in program will be ignored.
Has any one overcome this?
Tried turning on TVON and got a tape error
Tried ISO and iea and still comments ar stripped.
Thinking I might have to give up on this one
The OTA control does not support comments.

I had the same problem with a Sharp vertical mill with an O series control. It would not accept any macro type programs. I had to set the communication settings to ISO=1, TV ON=0.

I also have a wasino turning ctr.1982 w/ live tools and a fanuc 6t controller .I am trying to turn on the spindle in the daily startup sheet w/ no luck it just stays in neutral gear.I guess I need a fanuc 6t book. Where can I get that?

You will probabally need the Wasino Service book as the gear change routine will in all probability be a Wasino designed control not necessarily Fanuc. It may not be seeing a confirmation limit switch or other sensor for in gear, unless its stuck half-way over.

:o I now have a wasino book and have borrowed 2 fanuc 6t books but they dont overlap.I couldnt start the spindle in the daily startup procedure but now I figured it outt with the help of the former owner. The fanuc books were presuming I didnt have live milling heads on the turret.m.The other problem the 3 books dont cover is macros like g 70 and 71 or g 76 or g 92,etc. (2 lines or 1)I did order a fanuc macro book that should solve that from amazon. If anyone needs to know how to start a wasino spindle I can tell them-Victor
There is a parameter on most Fanuc controls that determine if comments ( ) will be displayed and read. I will be happy to review a manual for you and have you check the paramter.
