Hi,

I just posted a website dedicated to a CNC conversion. It shows the detailed conversion of my Smithy 1220 LTD, 3-in-1 machine, with lots of pictures and info (10 MB) showing the entire process.

I hope you will find it helpful.

Chris,

Nice job. I also have a Smithy 1220LTD that I was thinking of adding CNC.

What brand and length DROs (digital readouts) did you use on the three axes.

Thanks

I'm going to try this conversion myself, perhaps over the winter months. Great site and great work!

Chris,

Nice job on your cnc conversion and on the web sight detailing it.
I have a Busy Bee 3in1 clone (Canada).
I want to to do a similar conversion.
I hope you don't mind if I PM you in the future with some questions.
I'm in a new house with a lot of grounds work to do this coming spring/summer.
I don't expect I'll be able to start it until next winter.

regards

Chris,

I've looked at my 3 in 1 and the Zaxis quill has about 0.030" backlash.

I was wondering if you had a similar problem, and how you dealt with it?
