I'm doing some experimenting on wire size, foam, kerf, speed, and heat in order to get the best possible results. I'd like to know what others are using.
Do you use a fast, hot wire or a slow, cool wire? Please list all applicable parameters.
Example,
I get a 1.3mm kerf using .025" (.635mm) stainless steel wire at 3.8 amps and 4mm/sec. The foam is the large open cell polystyrene often used for flower arrangements or building a homebuilt composite airplane. I get about a 1.8mm kerf under the same conditions except a 2mm/sec speed.
