For small motors i developed small PCB with 3 driver.

Main CHIP is A3977

yes! - Small motors, maybe like floppy drive motors? Or what type? Nice looking board!
Do you have more details? Will you offer the specs and board for sale? Build them? Good Luck.

If using the Allegro 3977 then they will handle bigger than floppy drives as they 3977 are rated to 35Volts and you can pull 2.5amp per phase.

Think heat sinks would be needed if pulling the full whack out of them though.

Are the dips for setting the step and notcied two pots on each chip, is one for Vref and other for PFD?

I have just finished the design using the A3977SED PLCC version of chip and will be soldering up over the weekend.

Well done Greg looks good.

Sean.

smartgsm, nice looking board. I hated soldering the tssop's! Did you make a method to handle the pad underneath for heat dissipation?

I have doble sided PCB.
On PCB where is a3997 pad make 3 holes dia 2 mm. First soldering all pins. Then solder with tin via this 3 holes pad to pbc.

Looks like a good design.
Are you willing to share the PCB design with the cummunity ?

Cooling issues: Did you install schottky diodes on the 3977 outputs ?
I will run much cooler if you do...

Best regards,

Bert
