Hi everyone,

I was wondering if someone has a pretty good post for a Heidenhain tnc 151 control for mastercam 8.1 The control is on a Bridgeport Series II Interact 2 Vertical Milling machine. It's a 3 axis machine I recently purchased. It also has the programmable spindle speed changer and break and coolant off on. I'm not sure at this point if the mill is 4th axis ready. I hope it is, so I don't know if the post I need has to have the 4th axis added to it, but I would take that one too if it there's one available. But a nice cleaned up post would be great. I think there's a basic start up one on MasterCam 8.1 But I been in the trade long enough to know they can and need to be customized to get rid of as much or all editing at the control or pc. I know someones probably got a really nice one. I also need to get a RS232 cable to run to the machine if anyone knows where to get one of those too. This Mill is around 1987. I don't think the year matters. Not sure. Thanks again for any help from you all..

Hunter

I have an Interact 1 Mk2 and it took me a couple months to get it up and running. I got some very good help from this site and I was able to find the two little bugs that were stopping me. I have been programing through the interface at the machine and I have recently been working on the RS232 connection. The cable is nothing special. It is just a Null Modem cable with DB25 to DB9 connectors. I just made mine two nights ago. Today I was sending programs out of the controller to the PC. I was using hyperterminal to capture data coming over the line. I have one manual that has a small amount of information about the data transfer but it leaves out too much information to solve the problems. Here is what I have found. You can get software from Heidenhains web site that actually has the comm software for your controller. I just started using it today and I had to quit before I had anything figured out. BUT...it's going to work or I will burn the shop down trying. If you have any posts or information that might help my efforts, I would love to hear about it.

Thanks
