Hi guys

I been having this problem with this fanuc 10m just recently. When I power up the machine I can hear the relays click as normal then the control will turn itself off. This will happen 8-12 times and then it will stay on. Have any of you had this problem and fixed it.

Thanks

Hello
Does the control finally come up after afew minutes of trying? If that's the case, CNC power supply may need to be repaired/ replaced. By the way, what type of CRT display does your 10M has? 14 inch color screen or 9 inch monochrome (actually green)?

After 8-12 times trying the control will stay on, it seems it needs to warm up or something. This power supply you are talking about, is it black and on the mother board. The CRT is a 9".

Yes, I am refering to the black power supply mounted on the mother board. It has four mounting screws. Once you removed it, you will see the Fanuc part number on the side cover of the power supply. It should be something like A16B-12xx-xxxx.

The part # is A16B-1210-0510-01 on the power unit.

How are you at soldering? I have put together a component kit that fixes 90% of the problems with this power supply. The other 10% is the case when the supply is dead and can not be turned on at all after repeated tries.

Well I can solder, what is this repair you are talking about.

Replacing the defective parts. I usually get $250 for doing this repair. I would sell a kit of the components needed for $25usd if someone would like to try this before having to spend the big bucks.

Could you send me some pic's of the parts, so I know what I'am getting into.

If you see any part on that power supply you would not be comfortable unsoldering then this probably is not for you. Not only are you buying the components you are buying the knowledge of which components, pictures would supply that knowledge.

Please make sure you are completely comfortable with replacing the components. Yes, 90% of the time, replacing the capacitors will fix the problem. If the power supply is damaged while attempting to repair, it will end up costing about $750 to buy one outright. We do offer repair on this unit for $360 (sorry not $250 as other gentleman offering) with 6 months warranty. We can do 2 days turn around at no extra charge.

Hi hillbilly

I would like to buy this repair kit that you have put together for the power supply on this fanuc 10m (A16-1210-0510-01). I hope you reply back.

I am just about finished with my full solid modeled tool path simulator for my Fanuc 10M. This works on all Fanucs and also Mach 2 or 3 G code.

I was wondering if some one could try out a beta version for me "free" and let me know if it is worth selling with Mach 2 or 3 as a add on and let me know how much I should ask for it.
