At school we have a tapmatic 50x tapping attachment that has never been used. I can use it, but i have no idea how.
This will be to tap many holes into my 24x40 aluminum router table. Thinking of making a 2" or 3" grid. Regardless, thats a huge amount of tapping! So i would much prefer to use the attachment. Can somebody give me some guidelines?

As a general rule the body of the tapping attachment is mounted in some way to prevent rotation while allowing up and down motion.
It is usually mounted in a drill press.
In the interior are cone clutches. Push down into the work and it will feed a tap. Pull up and the direction of the tap will reverse as well as speed up to allow quicker tap removal from the work.

If you google tapmatic, you will find the instruction manual on their web site.
