When I power up a SHODA NC516 router, I get the following message on the CRT:

'NOT READY'

I can't find any info in the (available) manuals/documentation.

Any Ideas ?.

Is this a PC running DOS? Sounds possibly like a hard drive problem.

No, the router does not have a PC/hard drive.

You don't say if the machine is new to you or if you are familiar with it. I assume it's got a Fanuc control. Usually you will get this message until you have referenced the machine using ZRN switch and + / - keys to send each axis to it's reference position. Holding down P Q and cancel whilst turning on the Power will reset the axis controls which sometimes helps in a situation like this. Good luck, Nick.
