I have 6-7 HP Laserjet Series II & III printers that I have earmarked for my second CNC machine (I have to finish my first machine first though). Can anyone tell me if the electronics board that drives these steppers inside the printers is useful when moving these steppers to a cnc machine? My plans for my first machine is to use 5 1/4" floppy steppers and just use the circuit board from the floppy to drive them. I've tested this out now and it works great so far. I want to know if I could do the same when parting out the big printers.
Secondly, how bout the steppers used to move the print head in a Bubble Jet printer, can these be used with their associative electronics in a cnc machine? Thanks for your input guys.
