Anyone in mid-Uk need a challenge, guided me though my first CNC table.

Don't know if this will be any use to you - we're totally new to the cnc game but have just virtually completed our first cnc mill. I can tell you how we did it but as the table has yet to be fitted cannot give you accurate deflection measurements.
It's a moving gantry design using stepper motors with kit-built drivers/controllers and the chosing software is Mach 3 by artsoft.
