I wish to make back up copy of Mazatrol M-32 system disk.
System disk is not readble on PC.Is there any utility to read and make copy of system disk. There is no menu to make a back up from system .
Another problem i noticed is the Floppy drive used on the controller is not compatible with the standard pc floppy drive(though they appear to be same) .I tried exchanging with with new 1.44 floppy drive and it is not at all reading?
Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.

If the disks you have are the same as my Mazak disks, they are formated with a special Mazak system. You can buy software that will run on a pc that will read these disks, but it is expensive. (at least the software I have found)

A simple utility to copy these disks would be a big help.

I am currently looking at buying a software package from http://www.solution-ware.com/. It is a CAM package that allows Mazetrol programming from a PC. Has many nice features like generating G-code from the Mazetrol program, Mazetrol printouts, file organization, converting programs from M32 to M2 etc.

Another package I looked at is Mazak Camware. I don't think this had as many options (Like being able to generate G-code).

If there are other options, I would like to here about them.

wjbzone,

Check out this from Griffo Brothers. (http://www.griffobros.com/) Its another popular one for PC programming in Mazatrol.

We have an old copy of solution-ware that I use at the shop, it does a nice job of converting the programs from t-plus - t-32 and etc. (same for the mills) I have used it for some programing but not much. It helps alot around the shop, really helps if you have several different types of mazaks in the shop(we do)
