I have started building a cnc table 5x5 in size. I have the power supply done, rutex controllers hooked up to servos, and now I am ready to start building my table. Could someone help me with these questions.
1 – what thickness of linear slides should I use.
2 – what thickness of lead screw should I use, and what would be the most accurate.
3 – would building the table completely from aluminum extrusions be stiff and strong enough.

What are you cutting? What spindle? How fast do you want to go? What size are your servos?

Is that 5 ft x 5 ft in size?
After you answer ger21's questions:
1. Linear Rails, you'll want to go by size...generally something like SRS25, HRS35, etc.
2. Lead Screw is measured in diameter and the number of threads per inch (or the lead). For a 5 ft length I would look at a diameter of 1 inch or better.
3. Generally if you select the correct size of aluminum extrusions and use corner bracing you can achieve the same results as welded steel. You''ll find that aluminum extrusions are pretty pricey compared to steel.

Sorry about that, here are the details.
I will be cutting aluminum (thin) and wood only.
The motors are Reliance Micro 100 (2700 rmp, 670 oz-in, 130v)
I haven’t settled on a spindle yet (recommendations would be great).
Not sure on speed yet, but I doesn’t have to be ultra fast.

1. Minimum Rail Size: SRS25, RSR25...anyway 25mm
2. 1inch lead screw if the table is 5 feet x 5 feet.
3. The proper size of aluminum extrusions with corner bracing will work splendidly. Use the deflection calculator on the 80/20 site. Aluminum extrusions cost more then steel, but it's easy to modify and adjust.
