Is it safe to put a 1/4" brad point drill bit into a router with a 1/4" collet? Concerned about the 25,000+ rpms that the router turns.
Thanks

Thanks ViperTX 07-27-2005, 05:00 PM Well the drill part is not going to fly apart. ger21 07-27-2005, 06:49 PM Well the drill part is not going to fly apart. A long time ago I bought a set of Grizzly brad point bits for $10 that I'd be very afraid to do that with. Spend $15 on a 1/4" upcut spiral carbide bit. All bits do not meet the specs for the size as they begin life as drawn wire. I would not recommend using a 1/4" bit in a router. Jerry |
