Type of holder. :drowning: psychomill 07-27-2005, 02:23 PM What kind of brass? For the most part, 1/4-20 is not big deal on it. Brass is fairly abrasive, so if you have a 'ton' of holes to do, go coated. If not, uncoated will work fine. I usually use coated hi-spiral cut taps in it. Roll taps will work also, unless its real soft which usually causes gaulling on the tap. In this case, cut tap will work better. You can run brass like aluminum. JFettig 07-27-2005, 03:50 PM I do a lot of smaller cold forming, did some brass, it was a little more difficult than Al and Cu, I would go coated. Just make sure you have the right size hole, its not the same as with a cutting tap. Jon |
