I have made small wheels but what about big wheels like 18". I know there is different processes like spinning, forging.

I just wnat to know. I am most interested in the forging. I dont even know how to forge. Does anybody know where I could get information about forging?

Then after the forging do I put it in a mill and cut the design on the inside?

There are several approaches....if using aluminum there is the process of machining the whole wheel from a chuck of aluminum...usually called billet wheels. If you look at commercial wheels they generally have 2 parts....the outer rim which is machine forged and the center piece which can be made via different processes (milled, cast, forged, abrasive cut....).

I would like to do forged wheels.
