Hi
I`m using Mach2 and the write wizard. I`m wondering
what could be the cause of the text misalignment.
Thanks

Looks like lost steps. Does it only happen with the write wizard? Can you post the code?

Hi
Here`s the code I ran. Thanks for taking a look.
I believe the write wizard showed the problem.
The other wizards seemed to act normal.
I have been changing some of the config
settings so its possible I created a problem.

Thanks again for the help.

I loaded it into Mach3 and it looks fine. Have you had any problems with other programs on your machine.

Hi Gerry
That`s a drag. I thought the machine was working fine. I was only
running the code at 25 ipm. I didn`t think I`d have a problem with
lost steps.

Is it binding anywhere? It looks like it only lost steps in one spot, if that is what the problem was.

Hi
Its possible its binding on the Y axis. For one, I have preloaded rails and also
the 5/8 nook was bent in various spots. I am suprised it would loose steps because
the steppers are 1200 oz|in and I was only running at 25 ipm.

Is it binding anywhere? It looks like it only lost steps in one spot, if that is what the problem was.

Hi
It looks like I got the text to work correctly.
I lowered my max speed of the steppers and
lowered the cut speed to 10. I`m somewhat
surprised that its necessary to run at such
slow speeds to cut the letters. I`ve used most
of the other mach2 wizards and didn`t have any
lost step errors even when running a circle at
100 percent. Could I have missed something
in the config files of Mach2 that could cause these
step errors.

Thanks

What drives are you using, and at what voltage? What are the current and voltag ratings on your steppers?

Motor Specs

Holding Torque: oz*in 8.7

Rated Voltage 2.7

Rated Current 6.0

I had the same problem with a simular machine to yours.
I found that when I used the text wizard it worked my x and y axes hard causing the power suppley to be maxed. I found this out when I noticed the led lights on the Geckos dimming during the cuts. I ended up having to upgrade my power suppley to fix the problem.

Had same issue are you attempting to half step. if so check on sherline 1/2 stepping. If not factional stepping the motors are experiencing a bind somewhere.
