Hi
I`m using Mach2 and the write wizard. I`m wondering
what could be the cause of the text misalignment.
Thanks

View Full Version : Write wizard and text misalignment bgolash 06-26-2005, 03:13 PM Hi I`m using Mach2 and the write wizard. I`m wondering what could be the cause of the text misalignment. Thanks ger21 06-26-2005, 04:44 PM Looks like lost steps. Does it only happen with the write wizard? Can you post the code? bgolash 06-26-2005, 05:07 PM Hi Here`s the code I ran. Thanks for taking a look. I believe the write wizard showed the problem. The other wizards seemed to act normal. I have been changing some of the config settings so its possible I created a problem. Thanks again for the help. ger21 06-26-2005, 05:29 PM I loaded it into Mach3 and it looks fine. Have you had any problems with other programs on your machine. bgolash 06-26-2005, 06:13 PM Hi Gerry That`s a drag. I thought the machine was working fine. I was only running the code at 25 ipm. I didn`t think I`d have a problem with lost steps. ger21 06-26-2005, 07:00 PM Is it binding anywhere? It looks like it only lost steps in one spot, if that is what the problem was. bgolash 06-26-2005, 08:00 PM Hi Its possible its binding on the Y axis. For one, I have preloaded rails and also the 5/8 nook was bent in various spots. I am suprised it would loose steps because the steppers are 1200 oz|in and I was only running at 25 ipm. Is it binding anywhere? It looks like it only lost steps in one spot, if that is what the problem was. bgolash 06-28-2005, 08:43 AM Hi It looks like I got the text to work correctly. I lowered my max speed of the steppers and lowered the cut speed to 10. I`m somewhat surprised that its necessary to run at such slow speeds to cut the letters. I`ve used most of the other mach2 wizards and didn`t have any lost step errors even when running a circle at 100 percent. Could I have missed something in the config files of Mach2 that could cause these step errors. Thanks ger21 06-28-2005, 09:14 AM What drives are you using, and at what voltage? What are the current and voltag ratings on your steppers? bgolash 06-28-2005, 11:30 AM The power supply is 51 VDC and Gecko G210 Motor Specs 1200 oz*in Holding Torque: oz*in 8.7 Rated Voltage 2.7 Rated Current 6.0 Resistance Ohms .45 Induction mH 5.1 Netjams 08-25-2006, 07:32 PM bgolash I had the same problem with a simular machine to yours. I found that when I used the text wizard it worked my x and y axes hard causing the power suppley to be maxed. I found this out when I noticed the led lights on the Geckos dimming during the cuts. I ended up having to upgrade my power suppley to fix the problem. bgolash 08-25-2006, 09:32 PM Hi Netjams I appreciate your reply to my old thread. That`s great information. Thank You ! Regards Barry JOHNKLEEPER 04-26-2007, 07:22 PM Had same issue are you attempting to half step. if so check on sherline 1/2 stepping. If not factional stepping the motors are experiencing a bind somewhere. |
