Does anyone know if there is a website that sells 3d models of wood carvings or reliefs? I'm not too hot with 3d cad and so I'd like to cheat!

Do you want to do full 3 axis 3d or 2.5axis? kong 07-07-2003, 05:37 PM Never done it before, I just downloaded visualmill free, so something nice and small to start! My machine should be able to cope with 3d, albeit very slowly, 'till I get those motors sorted! cbcnc 07-07-2003, 08:07 PM Hi Kong, Try this site for a 3d Jesus: http://home.alltel.net/mmharper/ He makes some interesting things too. Chris robgrz 07-08-2003, 11:01 PM I'll add a plug for my software, MeshCAM. It can import both STL and Bitmap images and generate a toolpath from them. It has a couple of roughing options that, I don't think, FreeMill has. It's currently a free, unrestricted beta. You can download it from http://www.robgrz.com . I'd love to hear some feedback if you have a chance to try it. Robert kong 07-09-2003, 04:17 AM Thanks guys, but no joy so far, I would like a rosette, or something like you would find on a cabinet. I've been hunting the bigger 3d sites, but can't find anything! Kookaburra 07-09-2003, 04:29 AM Kong, Is a rosette a femail rose? Just joking!! In your hunts for what you want, if you come across a greyscale image of something that resembles what you want I may be able to help you convert it to a wire frame model or a least a geometrical toolpath. Good Luck Champ!! kong 07-09-2003, 06:49 AM Success, here's a good site for anyone else wanting some 3d reliefs. It's 3d clipart. but there some good programs to convert this to g-code. http://www.3dclipart.net/3d_clipart.htm yohudi 09-19-2007, 01:17 PM no problems with this... see the link below http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43622 jfc11 09-20-2007, 07:40 AM CBCNC, I cant get that link to work....Can you check to see if it is the correct one thanks, Jim grahamshere 09-20-2007, 11:40 AM dont know if you tried this one http://www.vectorart3d.com/ but think they have the best models to carve .
