Im thinking about a new project at the moment. Does anyone know how accurate the linear rails with linear brushings are from http://www.marchantdice.com/linear/. I've got some really nice ground ball screws from the same company and i wondered if its worth using the rods or if i should use THK rails. I don't really want to spend the money buying THK rails which is why im asking if these are worth using with ball screws but if they have allot of backlash then id rather go THK.

Your link is dead. DOA. Ita-no-a-worka....

THK are awesome, but there are a lot of others out there that might work for what you are doing and may be a little less $$.....what are you doing with this machine, anyway? Steel? Aluminum? Balsa? Cutting? Routing? Engraving?

The link works now, im thinking about building a lathe and i plan on cutting just about everything, mainly aluminium, SS, titanium and delrin.

Everyone has their own opinion, but in MY opinion, I would steer away from the round guides for medium to high loads.

I think you will have better longevity and rigidity with THK style guides.
