Hi all, I will be starting my CNC project real soon and at the moment I am in the designing and resourcing stage and have had an idea. I am building a JGRO style CNC and it will have a cutting envelope of 32"X18"X 3-4 inches.
I was planning on using 1 inch gas pipe for the X axis then it dawned on me why not use 1 square tubing and surely this would have less flex? as there are 4 corners which technically should be more rigid, would I be thinking this would be correct or not. I will also be using the skate bearing and aluminum angle slides for this on all axis if it helps. Kammo1

square tubing is more rigid than round in comparible sizes

Square tubing is also easier to work with, to drill proper holes, add gussets, etc.
