i am looking for t slot table for my gantry. i can not find table material. where do i look for it?

I've never seen any for sale myself.

I think your best bet is to scavenge some off an old mill. Or, you could always assemble your own (i.e. aluminum extrusions bolted together like Techno-isel does).

One option is assembling, or joining sections of 80/20 extrusion.

The only T slot table I know of, in metal, is from Techno Isel. They have a nice extrusion available in 16.5 inch widths, but it aint cheap. !00.00 a foot.

For small stuff, you can buy the milling tables from a tool store, or replacement Mini Mill tables from LittleMachineShop.com. Or of course try to snag a Bridgeport table off eBay.

For your gantry router, the stuff from 80/20 or Techno Isel would work nice.

i had no particual size in mind. i guess it is a matter of expense and how much of my gantry i am willing to cover. my table area is 49inches by 60inches. i thoght it would be nice to have the whole thing covered but it is looking expensive. thoughts?

You could try using a table with grooves routed into it to accept an aluminum t-track. http://rockler.com Type in aluminum t track into there search . There are all kinds of knobs and clamps that can be used.

The t slot track from rockler is good for making jigs as well.. I have used it several times and tend to by extra just for future use. Have you considered just milling a t slot in your table? I have seen people surface there table to make it true after it is installed. After you do that mill out the bulk of the slot and then change cutters to a 10-315-032 ( www.travers.com ) Page 249 and you have your unknown size tabel.... :)

Hi, This is an area i am looking to work on next, my thoughts start around a sizable plate of aluminium ( in the UK ) which is level and flat, rout your required groves only a couple of mm deep big enough to take an ali extrusion for slot width, This ensures slots are srtight with machine axis, next fix top of slot (TEE) to ali extrusion, then run machine over table to ensure flatness and slot width.
