i have a 98 mazak quick turn 20 with the t+ control, a service man who was working on a machine said that control came loaded and that the g-code programming just needs to be turned on, but he didnt know the process to do so, he seemed kind of full of b.s. when he talked so i wasnt sure if he knew or not. does anyone know if this is possible?

Check your "Option" page to see if you have "EIA/ISO" highlighted. If so, then yes, you can program/run in G code. ( To check your options, push ' Diagnostic > Version > Option ' ). To program, just push " Program > Work number > " , then the soft keys should prompt you for Mazatrol or EIA/ISO. Push "EIA/ISO" then you can program G code.

You can program g code inside of Mazatrol also. Just use the "Manual Entry" button when programming.

The option is software related ( I believe ) so I'm not sure what he meant by turning it on,.... unless he saw something in the ladder to make him believe it was loaded.

Hello
We have a old Mazak VQC VMC. We want to do G-code on it also, but it will have to have a EIA translator card installed. The cost of this from Mazak will make you faint.
About $5000.00 for the card.

what was explained to me is that mazak machines are all loaded with all the software, and the options are turned on somewhere, he says that is why it understands g code in the manual program and in mdi. I somewhat beleive him, at a shop i used to work at there was a ajv and a vqc mill, and a service man "turned on" the graphics and these machines never had them before

Start a new program and see if it asks for a Mazatrol or EIA/ISO format.
