Hi, I´m starting my project of building a desktop milling machine. I would like to use linear bearings. Searching the web I found this site:

http://www.misumiusa.com/PDFViewer.aspx?Metric=false&Page=181
http://www.misumiusa.com

The cost of this slides it´s Ok for my budged, But I´m not sure if these slides could be used in a milling machine, my machine will be used to cut aluminum and some steel cuting. I would like to obtain an accuraciy betwwen 0.003 and 0.001 Inches.

I was planing to use the SX2R model. They are cheaper than the THK and the diference in acucuracy doesn´t seem to be that much. However the Preload of the misumi slides seems to be smaller than the preload of the THK. Does anybody have used this slides?

bcox999 -

Do you work for misumi?

Please include details of the relevant motion products you have used and the rough costs, your impressions, the pros and cons of the components, design considerations, environmental considerations, etc. THAT would be helpful shhtuff.

Maybe you could start a thread in the Linear Motion forum for these products?? That would be really helpful.

Many thanks,

Scott
