CADCAM, is your VB Editor opening after the new patch? Mine doesn't. It runs them, but won't open the editor.

cadcam,
What does SP1 refer to?
I believe VB means visual basic, correct?
Could you provide a short list of the updates?

SRT, SP1 is Service Pack 1. It's a patch to "fix" bugs in software. Yes, VB is Visual Basic.. Mastercam 9.1 has the ability now to use Visual Basic Scripting. There's an editor inside Mastercam now for doing that. With the new SP1, that editor doesn't open any more.

I'm not sure about a list, I'd be interested to see one as well.

The Editor is not launching due to the replacement of the MastercamScriptEditor.dll file. This file needs to be registered (which obviously simply unzipping is not going to do). It is very easy to register the file however.

Open Windows Explorer and browse to the Windows/system32 directory and find the file named regsvr32.exe. Right click on the file and select copy. Browse to your mcam9 directory (or mcam91 as some of you guys have used), paste the file into there. Drag and drop the MastercamScriptEditor.dll file onto the regsvr32.exe file. Now open Mastercam and launch the c-hook.

Paul, I tried that last week. I also tried CNCReg.exe, and it didn't work. I also tried reg'ing it via console command line, and every other way I could think of. I finally took the dll from 9.1 and replaced the one from 9.1sp1, now it opens.

CNC Software is aware of the issue. It's covered in depth over at emastercam.

YMRYL thank you for this thought.
Just so you know this not the case for all.

As for me that has not been an issue the install worked just fine.
So I say that your statment is good for thows that had trouble after the install.

Also wanted say thanks for bringing in your support.:)

Rekd,

Still not sure why you are unable to register the scripting editor dll, I have had a few guys manually register the file and everything was fine. I'll e-mail you the very latest files and a batch file to register it all for you and that should take care of it.

I'm thinking that the reletively few individuals that are making use of the new vb scripting editor that is now in v9 is the reason for the limited number of users reporting the problem. Luckily, we have Aphex here to help us sort it all out. Figured I better let him know about Rekd's problem as his solution fixed me up just fine. I'm sure he'll get him squared away...
