HEY EVERYONE,
I'm soon going to be tramming the head on my h.f. (rong fu). Any methods or need to knows for this process. I was thinking of using some feeler gage material for this, if shim stock is too expensive. Any comments?

KBC used to have a shim stock kit for 20 or 30 dollars cdn - assortment of brass shim, each around 4" x 12". if the no longer have it, others must have something similar

I bought several packages of brass shim stock at my local Ace Hardware store about a year ago. I was bale to buy .001, .002, .003,... in sheets about 4"x6". It's worked great for my needs.

THANKS GUYS,
I ended up shimming with some feeler gage I already had. Discovered that when the spindle sleeve was locked it through it off 2 thous. When doing cnc work it won't be locked, so I shimmed "true" in the unlocked position.
