Windows XP Update has got me on my CNC control. I had the machine set so it would boot right up and load my CNC control.

With one of the recent automatic updates, the computer now waits for me to click a user name before finishing the boot. It also goes right back to this screen when the screen saver kicks in. PITA

I have no need for separate users. Anyone know how to disable this annoyance?

Windows updates are evil, I never update my windows. You might find something to change the login type in the controll pannel >> users

I know there is a place where you can go to change it, but I cannot remember what exactly it is.

In XP # Select Run from the Start Menu, type control userpasswords2, and click Ok.
# Turn off the Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer option, and click close.

I found it depends on the version, as you may have to go to control click on user accounts and go to Change way users log in and select 'Welcome screen'
Also I believe you can use TweakUI program.

I use AWPR (All Windows Password Recovery) for this, you select the user you want to auto-login and set it. This tool is also usefull for fixing a coumputer your bought from a friend who forgot his password.

For the screen saver problem. Go to the Display control panel select the Screen Saver tab and uncheck "On resume, Password Protect"
