What would you all guess it would cost in parts to replace all 3 ball screws and all six linear ways on a VF-2?

Parts like that on my 4020 Fadal (minus the linears anyway) would be about $7000 CDN using remanufactured parts. Haas should be similarly priced.

It's just like a Fadal, you never quite get it paid for, even when the notes end.

DEAN,
Best way to find out is call Haas directly. I have never had to buy a part for mine, so I dont know if there is a better (cheaper/ discount) place to get them.

"Buying a haas hurtz.. huh???"
No.. not really

When possible, I like to go with whoever made the part in the first place, it's mostly a LOT cheaper. A good bearing house should be able to price your ways and screws for ya.

A good bearing house should be able to price your ways and screws for ya. I've had my machines for eight years, and have spent about two grand in service and repair in that time. Best return on investment I have ever made.

I forgot what the name said but the linear ways have the manufacturers name and I believe the serial number on them. take the cover loose on the Z axis and pull the shield out of the way and you can see it. (its a pain becuase those covers aren't fun to deal with.)

You can probably order the guids directly but may be cheaper thru one of their primary distributers.
