CNCadmin 06-21-2003, 10:05 PM That's what I need to do and I wish my desk was that clean.
Here is my spot I occupy every night til 1 am :(
balsaman 06-21-2003, 10:08 PM Cool.
Does the screen seem really far away? I am used to it closer in.
Eric
CNCadmin 06-21-2003, 10:10 PM cadcam- if you don't mind how long :) is your desk and where did you get it?
cadcam 06-21-2003, 11:15 PM Paul these are two desks togeather.
They are 7' togeather.I bought them cheap at Target beleave or not..
Balsaman doed it look like the monitor is far away in the picture.
Both monitors are 17" I am a little over two feet away .
Do you want to see the bracket on the back?
cadcam 06-21-2003, 11:18 PM Did you notice the extra wireless print server on the floor I need to get this up and running.
I have one going that is for my Laser printer using LPT the other one on the floor that I am palying with is a USB one for my scanner color printer copier.
I keep the fax and the printers in the garage.
I spot a Corona on the desk.:D
There's one on my desk at this very moment.:)
I knew I liked you.
CNCadmin 06-21-2003, 11:45 PM I finshed mine but I feel i need another. :) OOH just remembered I have limes.
Notice the corona is sitting right in the middle, with nothing around it. :D
/me holds up a rum & coke..
'Rekd teh inebriated
Maybe someone can give me a leed on a desk set up that would allow the monitor to be below the top of the desk level with a plexiglas window pane at desk top level.
My bifocal glasses are causing problems, and I've seen what I mention previously, but everytime I ask where they got their desk they reply that they had it made custom.
ToyMaker 06-22-2003, 09:13 AM SRT:
I saw a monitor-in-desk piece at Office Depot. But from the look of it a 13" monitor would max it out.
I have the bifocal problem, too. I compensate by taking the base off the monitor and setting it flat on my desk and putting it as far away as my desk will allow. It's not ideal, but it helps.
- my eyes aren't bad, my arms are too short :) .

Tom

Passing by the primate area one day, a zoo attendant happens to notice a chimpanzee sitting on a rock with an open book in either hand, looking first at one and then at the other. Upon closer examination, he identifies the books: the Bible, and Darwin's "Origin of Species".
Curious, he asks the chimp, "What's with the books?" The chimp replies, "I'm trying to decide whether I'm my brother's keeper, or my keeper's brother."
WallCrawler 06-22-2003, 01:09 PM Mine is not bad, but I am running a small network at my house.
cadcam 06-22-2003, 01:17 PM I have not seen for along time the desks with the monitor in the bottom..
Have you done a serch on the big mighty NET..

cadcam 06-22-2003, 02:41 PM Aw the auto licker everyone should have one.
cadcam 06-22-2003, 02:46 PM How many of you run a home network ?
That includes a wireless and wireless intranet and file shareing.
How many of you including the network also include a ,Let's say a server or some type of file server for the house.
Say even one of these for file shareing Linksys file share (http://www.linksys.com/products/product.asp?grid=35&scid=43&prid=447)
CNCadmin 06-22-2003, 02:50 PM I do, I have a computer in my basment that is connected via wireless to my computer upstairs.
cadcam 06-22-2003, 03:54 PM BASMENT what is that?...
I am thinking right now of putting another computer or the Linksys in the garage along with the fax and printers.
ToyMaker 06-22-2003, 04:34 PM I have an 8 port hub that I tie 2 or 3 machines into across 10/100 ethernet copper.
On my to-do list is adding two more remote machines, but I have to string some cat5 cable first.
My file/print server is a P2-250 running WinME with a 40 gig drive in.

Tom

You might be from the American north-west if you are not fazed by "Today's forecast: showers followed by rain," and "Tomorrow's forecast: rain followed by showers."
cadcam 06-22-2003, 04:50 PM toymaker have you thought about wireless?
My sones computer upstars is on a wireless usb connection to the network and intranet.
I have the fist two computer that you saw in the earler picture are on the Lan 10/100 with cat5
my two laptops and my sone along with two printers are all wireless.
Oh and I have one more computer in a bag that will do wireless or lan.
balsaman 06-22-2003, 04:59 PM I have 3 computers on cat5 cable. One in my office, one in my wife's, one in the garage. My office has the router so all computers connect to the internet.

Yes, I have considered wireless. But both the systems I have been able to see in operation have serious interference problems with cell phones and ham radios :) .
My amateur radio call sign is ke6njc.

In democracy it's your vote that counts. In feudalism, it's your count that votes.
-anon.
CAMmando 06-23-2003, 12:29 AM Of course if you dont use the deoderant, you can improvise witht the letter moistening. :D
cadcam 06-23-2003, 08:09 AM Toymaker I know I have heard of inter frence but have not seen it..
I have a few cell phones in the house and also cordless phones and have not found any droping or problems per-say but I have not seen wireless around Ham Radio.
At the company were I am programming right now we have two diffrent wireledd setups one for the company laptops to get on the network and the other the wireless DNC package that I sold them for 14 CNC's..
They work well in the shop we did setup two access points to make sure that they were alwas on line.
I wonder if the Wireless "A" might work for you being in the 5ghz range compared to the "B" or "G" series..
well enough ramble.
