Starting part

I have been using alibre since version 9, love it but this week starting having trouble with Version 11.1. I had not done any development for a couble of weeks and i could be having a huge brain f**rt but I need to get going again.

When I open a new part I usually create in the XY plane. In version 10 I had to click on the face edges to define which face I was working in. i could then draw a figure, center it and then proceed. All this week i have not been able to symmetically constrain the sketch on the face, I can't seem to select the axis line that i need to constrain to, I used to be able to get the x or y axis line to change color and become active and then click on each of the parallel lines to center the sketch. this has left me very frustrated. have i turned off something or what?

I do not ever remember being able to symmetrically constrain a solid, but you can do this with a Sketch.

Do you have a Part Drawing Template??

If not here is one of mine. I have added a few planes so I can move a design if needed.

Tim Jones taught me this and it comes in handy.

Also you will have all the necessary parameters turned on.
