You can, but you need to make a 3D part and export a drawing, then import it into Mach3's LazyCAM. For simple stuff, you might just want to use a 2D CAD program, like A9CAD from www.a9tech.com

You'll still need to bring it into LazyCAM to create the gcode, or use something like ACE converter (free) or SheetCAM.

Xpress is now up to version 10 SP1 so if you really want to use it for 2D then upgrade. V10 Xpress is still free and it has many extra features added in 2D.

My Xpress crashed during the upgrade and didn't finish, and now it crashes even if I say no to the upgrade. It sent them an email after the crash, but for nowI can't use it at all.

Try doing a full uninstall including the Alibre help. Then download from the web sight and install.
