I caved, I purchased the Alibre standard today. I think I got a good deal but I don't know anything about CAD. I also purchased Dolphin CAD/CAM. I make Billet Aluminum Tail Lights for Off-road ATV's and Buggies. I need to have text engraved on the face. In Alibre I have already re-created the blank but now need to have letters. Any simple way of doing that? Smitty  |

| There is an API (limited free to try) made by Alex Frank. It is probably the easiest way to add text to surfaces. http://plans.thefrankes.com/Code/Apps/TextImportWizard/ Read his directions to make it work correctly. http://plans.thefrankes.com/Tutorial...d/Default.aspx Read all the way to the bottom of the page to get the full instructions and troubleshooting information. After the text is extruded to the surface then you can cut away the top to match a contour if needed. |
