Alibre planning to remotely brick Xpress users?

I just got a VM and email from an Alibre sales rep:

was wondering if you still might be in the market for our software?.

Give me a call so I can tell you about our promotion.

The Xpress addition that you have will no longer be supported and disabled due to our v2011 that was just launched.

    (emphasis mine)

Dropping official support, well, that I understand 100%. But disabling perfectly-working software? I'm open to being convinced otherwise, but I'd be shocked if keeping me "enabled" costs anything that can be measured without the use of an electron microscope. I understand everybody's trying to make a buck and Alibre's business model no longer includes free software, but it seems like kind of a sour move.

Post this question on Alibre's tech support site - you will probably get an official answer there.
