    Ajax DC310 Servo Drive

    Hi all,

Has anybody got a list of mating connectors I need for the DC310 Servo Drive. I'm just fitting the DC310 as a retrofit on a Boss 6. I assume they are standard PC type connectors.

Are Ajax still operating, as I tried to contact them by email, with no answer.

    Thanks

    Dave

    Hi Dave,

The standard I/O connectors on the DC3IO are phoenix connectors and are included when you order a DC3IO. If you need connectors for the auxiliary I/O I can arrange to send to you for a small fee (~$25).

You mentioned that you had sent an email but I haven't seen one. I'm currently in Taiwan for the TIMTOS show so it's possible that I may have missed it but there are several people on the support staff back in the States that I'm sure would have responded had they received your email. Perhaps a problem occurred when you sent it or our spam filter killed it. I would appreciate it if you would resend your email so that we may address your concerns.

    Regards

    Scott

    Hi Dave,
I am from Sri Lanka and have bought four systems from AJAXCNC Pa, USA and find them very reliable. The DC310 3 axis drive has to be fed with DC Max117Volts. The connections are mostly screw type for the axes + and-, ie X,Y,Z. A PC 1000Mhz p3 is what I use and there is a PCI Card given by Ajax with the kit. There are standard PC type DB9 connecters on the card which are plugged into the PCI Slot and you will have to wire your encoders to male DB9 connectors. The Card has 6 optical cable out connectors numbered 1 to 5 (even 6) and you have to connect these correctly to the DC310 Optical Cable Sockets. There are other inputs like Limits and you just follow the connecting instructions. Please verify the encoder connections and do not mix the 5v and0 v the other way around.

They give the cables too, no fuss on the system. Very simple.

If you buy the kit you get all instructions on the CD provided and the circuit diagram given.

Regarding DC310, if you operate it on a big machine with full power and not enough cooling on the DC310, which has MOSFET Transistor H Bridges, they might blow. I had this experience and I replaced them my self. Remember, Have a clean dust free cool atmosphere in the electronic equipment cabinet.

Any day Ajax( Actually Centroid equipment marketed by this company) is the best. You may write to me personally if you like a little help.
