Photos Of Your Retrofit

Here are some photos of a retrofit that I did on a Lagun 310 with a Bendix System 10 control. I made a motherboard and ps holder out of 1/4" aluminum. I stripped everything from the cabinets except the two transformers and the disconnect. This machine was making chips 1 hour after the wiring was done. The owner of this machine has made over $150,000 worth of parts in less than 6 months. Employees now look forward to running jobs rather than dreading the old System 10. I am now retrofitting a 40x20x24 bed mill with the Ajax control. I will post pictures when it is completed. Terry

The machine doesnt belong to me so I cant post pictures of the parts he makes. The wire covers were from Grainger. The bedmill that I plan to retrofit next does belong to me so I can show greater details of everything. I plan on using a computer case instead of making my own mounts to save time. I have the new linux version so that will be fun to try out. Terry

K I figured that would be the case (I'm almost ready to finish mine and like looking at things that have been made on retrofit machines )

New Ajax installation

Hello everyone
Just sent Jesse MONEY for a Ajax system to convert a Bridgeport Series 2 with a Anilam Crusader 2
Only a few hitches so far in trying to get encoders for the SEM MT30E motors
Finally have found a encoder that matches Ajax requirments and fit the 5mm shaft on these motors. Just have to make mounts to install the encoders .
Will keep everyone informed about the progress and take pics.
Sound like it is a good system and can not wait to make chips with it.
Brad

Very nice...

I think it's great that more shops are thinking outside the CNC machine tool builder one size fits all box.

Would any Ajax control builder or user like to participate in the BPT shoot out? I can e-mail you the test program. If you choose to partisipate, you'll get the results in an excel file compared to 12 other CNC machines...
See other posts on the BPT by searching for that.

Sincerely,
