| Brian, Hello. AjaxCNC licenses and sells Centroid DC servo technology. We are selling the same hardware and software, directly to the end-user, in the form of a component-level CNC kit. AjaxCNC controls are designed for the DIY machinist or job shop operating on a limited budget. Centroid, on the other hand, sells complete turn-key CNC controls that are professionally installed and maintained by certified technicians. Centroid also manufactures and sells AC servo systems up to 5-axes.

| Centroid's Great I've had 2 mills running Centroid retro-fits, one an M-15 on a Clone mill with ball screws, and the second a M-400 on a series I rigid ram BP. Both worked fantastic for the 3-4 years I ran them. NO DOWNTIME AT ALL ON EITHER!!! Where I work we have Prototrak's on BP's and have required service about every 6 mo's each. The Centroid's have much faster rapids. I did the install's on both myself an it took me 12 hours on the Rigid Ram, and about 2 1/2 days on the Clone conversion because of the addition of the ball screws and motor mounts etc. I loved the Millwrite engraving package that was bundled with the controls as well. Wish I hadn't sold them. (customer base died out). I am now doing a Mach 3 conversion with rutex drives on a huge Sharnoa Knee mill. Hope to have it running in 2 weeks or so. I considered an Ajax conversion for it, but $$ are tight right now, and I wanted to try to do a conversion/control build by myself to get a better understanding of drives, encoders and such. |
