Hi All,
Have just started collecting bits to cnc my taig /peatol here in the UK lathe,I would very much like to include cnc screw cutting and read in the mach2/3 manual that you need a encoder,I now very little about this only that there is a disc spinning round with a slot in it and the encoder bolts on and reads the spindle speed by how many times the slot goes by the encoder I think
,have looked at encoders on the R.S components site but don't know, if am looking at the right ones if someone could point them out for me that would be very helpful,also were does the encoder link up to mach2/3 thorough one of the pins?,is there something in-between the encoder and mach2 i.e a circuit board,if so were can I get one from in the uk?.
