There are several approaches....if using aluminum there is the process of machining the whole wheel from a chuck of aluminum...usually called billet wheels. If you look at commercial wheels they generally have 2 parts....the outer rim which is machine forged and the center piece which can be made via different processes (milled, cast, forged, abrasive cut....). |
