If it is a FONT, it is going to cut an outline of the letters. I found a solution to this problem, by actually creating drawings of different fonts. What I mean, is lines, and arcs drawn in CorelDRAW (a vector-based drawing program), and then grouped together to create each individual letter. I just store the file containing the drawn fonts, and click and drag them into position for any engravings I need lettering for. It's a real tedious way of doing things, and it helps to be a Typographer to get the letter spacing and kerning correct. But the results are beautiful, once they are engraved. |
