I thought I my post some pics of my router build so far. I'm using ITEM T-Slot extrusions for the frame.

Usable table size will be around 1400mm x 900mm (5' x 3').

Very clean design! Nice work. You must have more than a little experience with sheet metal...

The ramp and bin setup... is this for some type of sawdust extraction and collection?

Yep, the ramp will send all the sawdust down to the collection bin where it will get emptied when full. The front where the collection box is will be enclosed with an opening to get the vacuum cleaner through.

Last time I did any sheet metal work was 25 years ago at school. The photos hide my poor sheetmetal work

Here are some update photos. I have the X Axis and Gantry assembled. I need to machine up some mounts for the Y Axis ballscrew and stepper next. Then get started on the Z Axis.

Im about to have a crack at a router/mill out of ITEM extrusions myself.
Nice work.

How did you align the extrusions accurately?
The brackets I have get it close but not close enough. I have a dial indicator but Im down a straight edge. Will have to get one soon.

I might be wrong about this but arent the rails on your gantry on the wrong side?
I thought the cutting head should be as close to above the gantry's bearings as possible to minimise the leverage forces on the bearings, (Moment B in the diagram).
