80/20 for diy router table?

hello cnczone
i was wondering would 80/20 be a good product for making my cnc mill's table .i was looking at 1"x3" 80/20 for a 36"x24" table for my diy cnc .just seems that it would allow me endless options for holding down work peices.

Welcome to CNC ZONE -
8020 as you recognized is great for reconfiguring ( ..endless options).

I've built (well built and reconfigurred ) one that size. Works great. With some of the left over bits I am making a foam cutter and another desktop machine. but those are on delay for 6 months or so.

Check out the photo gallery I have some photos there of my system(s). You might find some others posted by checking the members that post in this section of the CNC Zone. To make it even easier one of the members (ahern?) has a web site and some bits for sale to help along the 8020 way too.

In progress - 8020, linear rails, ball screws, steppers

For what it's worth, I sell a couple of linear motion components specifically for use with 8020 here: www.cncrouterparts.com.

I also ship to Canada (via USPS to reduce duties), and am happy to collect parts from other vendors for you and ship them all with your order from cncrouterparts -- I just did this for a gentleman from Manitoba. Anyway, hope this is helpful, and happy building!
