Yes it's possible to use one motor, and timing belt to drive, two screws, can't say if I have ever seen it done with the model D, but it is very common to do, it just takes a little more work and components, I would for sure 100% use timing belt and pulleys XML size will be fine,
don't use chain and sprockets,
