xairflyer, I can't speak for TurboCNC as I don't have home switches on my machine, but I know at work the large CNC machines have a slow homing cycle. Normally, we only have to home the machine when its first turned on in the morning, after that its good for the day.
We either jog it around manually to close to the home switches, or we let it home itself and find other things to do while waiting. Read the worklist, go get materials, check tooling, etc.
I was told that the homing cycle is slow so the machine will read the switch accurately. I cannot confirm that statement however. |
