I see what you mean-that is a piece of work! Very nice. For some reason I've got this mental image of a metal table-I hadn't really considered wood. But a lattice or grid like yours topped with a skin (and I agree-bonded) should do fine. And for less of the green stuff. You've made the little wheels in my thickish skull start to turn!
