I installed a PCI parallel port card in my machine, and ran my NM135 from that, instead of using the PC's built-in parallel port. The PCI card allows me to change the kernel speed in Mach3 to anything, whereas before, a kernel speed change would crash mach3
Anyhoo, the rapids can now be increased. Alot. I cranked the X and Y rapids up until the motors started stalling, then backed off a little. I got reliable rapids at:
X over 250 ipm, and,
Y over 300 ipm (I can't remember the exact numbers, maybe even 350??)
The NM135 seems to survive numerous crashes against the hard stops at 115ipm with no damage... but seeing that table flying around at 300ipm... all bets are off. So for the common good, I'm back to running at X/Y=115ipm.
