We use a Coax indicator mounted in the collet. There are 2 bolts (on our 42s) that need loosening. They are on the bottom of the tailstock. You can only adjust in the direction of the slant bed. The other direction is what it is, and I've never seen one that had zero runout. You could also mount a magnet based indicator on the spindle face, but that requires a little more care not to move the base while moving the spindle.
