startbin is a way for post writers to protect their work or portions of it.
Basically what it does is take a section of the post and convert it to binary to prevent reading/writing by others. This allows partial protection for a certain section of the post, but leaves the rest of the post available for editing. The binary section is created in a seperate file the MUST go with the post, or the post won't work.
Say you created a routine in your post that you didn't want to share or make available for people to change, read or what ever. You can place startbin and stopbin commands in your post between the area you want to protect and covert it to binary using a special function.
You can (I believe) set permissions according to hasp type with this as well.
