Hi Russell,
Thanks for the welcome and hi to everyone else out there in the Zone.
Well, I went to visit Linear Bearings in Rocklea Brisbane yesterday. As soon as I walked into their showroom, I felt like a kid in a candy shop. There product range is extensive, as in, if you want it they've got it. The quality is outstanding. I Had a chat with their man Martin and although he didn't personally have dealings with Crocky and his build, because Crocky's down in the deep south, he knows all about it. Crocky is a star. Martin is pretty enthusiastic about these builds and he reckons that they can put together a kit to my XYZ requirements that when assembled would practically be turnkey. They should be able to supply everything. Kind of like cnc ikea. I should feel a little guilty about this but I really need a cnc table up and running quick. cause I'm gettin' old. I have a few projects I have to start soon. I'm a cnc guy from way back and over the years, have come up with a few ideas for true home builds that look good on the screen, I just don't get enough "machine for myself" time. My boss is happy for me to make my own kit, but has this really annoying habit of dropping job sheets on my keyboard. So hopefully my little ideas work out and of course if they do, Ill be sharing with ye all. Long live the Zone. |
