Yes, it is possible.
Few months before we have changed CRT to new LCD. If you want to confirm, just plug the cable into the LCD to see whether it is accepting it or not.
As a word of caution, some times the CRT, while dying, may bring down or fuse the mother board too. Then even though you change the monitor, you cannot see any thing. And some times the bit rate or baud rate may not match and hence you may have to tweak the BIOS of the machine.
Try yourself first and if it doesn't works, call CT.
