Thanks for showing intrest in the project.
This set-up is my own ( Home made ). Unfortunatly no drawings or instructions are excisting. Done by my self and not expencive at all.
The white material you see is a 20mm POM plastic material. Given to me by a good contact.
A good and strong type of material very well suited for this purpose.
The round bars you see are 50 mm aluminium pipes just for stiffening up the main frame. ( 2 on each side )
The Y-axis is sliding on 2 ea. 20 mm steels shafts under the wooden table.
( not possible to see on the pictures )
on a ball bearing principple similare ( also home made with cheap standard ball bearings ) to the one seen on the picture ( X-axis )
The construction seams to be pretty stiff, but of coarse, I look forward to have everything mounted to it and see it running.
It should be easy to do modifications if needed.
Size of motors: Yes I have considered a stronger type. Nema 34 brand maybee.
The ones I have looked at has a tourque of 3 Nm, but I am very unsure wether this is enough.
My Y-axis is total 900m (Travel length is a bit shorther )
My X-axis approx 700 m
Maybe you have some thougths ?
If I am going up a step I also probably need to go for a bigger driver unit. ?
Maybe X and Y should be based on the 34 brand and the Z could be 23.
I assume the interface bord to the PC could handle different kinds of driver units.
Reg.
