Machine rigidity isn't the best for the Y-axis but I'm not running big loads and I don't intend to.
I don't know if you can see in my photos but the x-axis runs on ball bearings on the inside of the gantry. The hardened/ground shafts & bushings keep the axis in line but the steel rails and ball bearings keep it level.
I was getting around 0.5mm of sag when the gantry was in the middle of the machine. The bearings fixed that problem. Cheap too!
I can consistently place the tool within 0.1mm. I would say 0.05mm but I don't want to sound over confident.
